GIVING THE COUNTRY A VOICE
Like no other country in Southeast Asia, Cambodia suffers from the legacy of its uniquely turbulent past. The Khmer Rouge’s reign of terror and the decades of civil war that followed are deeply embedded in the nation’s memory.
This is particularly evident in the culture. The country is in danger of losing its own cultural roots. It is not too late, but it is high time to remember what once made Cambodia so special.
With ‘the Gong’, we are giving the country’s culture a place where the old traditions can live on and be honoured. At the same time, we are providing a breeding ground for something new to emerge.
Auditorium
The Cultural Centre’s stage is always available for performances and rehearsals by artists of all ages. Symphony orchestras have played here, circuses have entertained their audiences and even world-class international artists such as the great pianist Luisa Imorde. The hall can accommodate up to 140 people, making it probably the largest in the area.
Recording Studio
The recording studio, which is equipped to international standards, is run commercially by us. Of course, we use it for our own recordings for the school choir, but it is primarily intended for national and international artists to record their music in a unique atmosphere.
Podcast-Studio
In addition to the recording studio, ‘the Gong’ also has its own podcast studio, where video podcasts can be recorded as well as traditional podcasts. As with the recording studio, the podcast studio is rented on a commercial basis wherever possible.
Video Productions
Thanks to the spectacular architecture of the Cultural Centre, ‘the Gong’ is often used as a unique backdrop for commercial video productions. We are also technically equipped to provide the best possible support for producers and artists.
Conferences & Meetings
The unique space provides a special venue for conferences and product launches to large audiences. ‘The Gong’ is equipped with the appropriate technology. Catering can be provided by the Farmhouse Resort, which is also the perfect place to stay.
